Cisco
While I was a Lead UX Designer / Frontend Developer at Cisco, I worked on a startup project called Cisco Defense Orchestrator. The goal was to create a centralized "single pane of glass" to manage all of the different security policies that run on Cisco firewall appliances. I played dual roles during my tenure, focusing between Lead UX Design and Frontend development. I managed a weekly UX Guild that served as a platform for UX designers and product managers to discuss current challenges and directives happening throughout Cisco. I also attended and contributed to many off-sites to provide creative input and direction to other groups within the organization.

When network administrators sign into Cisco Defense Orchestrator, they get a high level view of their networking status. With clear and intuitive high-contrast color coding, it's easy for administrators to drill down and inspect potential problems on their network.
The inventory view gives users a high-level overview of their security appliances onboarded into the system, and helps them identify any connectivity issues or configuration changes that need to be synced to the device.
In the world of networking, objects represents the PB in a PB&J. Objects describe things like network addresses and ports, essentially endpoints for communication. The objects are the lego blocks to network policies which allow or restrict access to endpoints within a network.
When interviewing NetOps, we learned that objects represented one of the biggest security risks in a network because they are often duplicated and mis-managed due to the shear scale and lack of proper tools to optimize and centrally manage them. We created features to help discover object issues and allow NetOps to identify and resolve object issues, resulting in a better security posture.
