Content Management
Having a website is all about sharing content right? What's the point of having one if you don't feel empowered to add to it, change it, make it work for you? Most of my websites can be powered by Wordpress to enable content management, (CMS). But Wordpress isn't the only fish in the sea. I can integrate with Storyblok, Drupal, Wordpress, or pretty much any other content management tool you have in mind.
Responsive Design
Gone are the days of static design. In the modern Web, content is meant to be consumed in many different formats. Mobile, tablets, desktop, and televisions can all display web content. When I design your website, I'll use tried and true resources like Bootstrap, Material UI, Retina-friendly SVG images, and icons to make sure it looks at any size and format, so you'll know anyone who looks at your web content will be focused on what matters; your amazing content. 🙂
Hosting Setup
Designing a website is one thing, figuring out how to host it, configure DNS, setup SSL certs, send emails, schedule backups, these are sometimes not trivial tasks. When I design your website, I already have a lot of knowledge in this area and have preferred resources to use, so we can get your project started quickly and built on a solid foundation. I work with Vercel, WPEngine, and Cloudflare to name a few.
Clean Code
Not to toot my horn too loudly, but I've been developing websites since 2006 💾. I also worked as a software engineer for 5 years at Cisco Systems where I wrote as many automated tests as I did production code. I'm constantly learning new technologies and choosing which work the best for delivering rock-solid online experiences. I love it when my code is clean because it enables me to work faster and focusing on the overall experience. Currently I use React, NextJS, Typescript, and eslint to make high quality online experiences that sing. I currently work for Genie Life Sciences, a startup company focused on cloud-enabled lab automation.
Clean Design
Before I got into coding I was a graphic designer. I studied under working professional designers at MassArt. I worked several years at Williams-Sonoma and spearheaded many custom catalog and mailer campaigns. I later became a creative director at a well-known staffing agency for creatives called Aquent. Design is always at the heart of what I do, and I think it's what I do best. When I design your website, I will bring along my uncompromising design aesthetic to help you look good and communicate effectively.
Ongoing Support
Maintaining a website can be a lot of work. From dealing with security alerts, DoS attacks, and package updates; when I design your website I will provide you with a service plan to help keep these important things in check. I will also ensure you can perform any important content management task required, giving you the right level of information without bogging you down with technical details.
